Requirements

Who Can Be Nominated and What to Submit

  • Open to all Rotarians within Zone 10A.

  • Must be an active Rotarian in good standing for at least five (5) years.

  • Must be a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) at time of nomination.

  • Must be a current End Polio Now contributor (any amount donated within the Rotary year).

  • Must be endorsed and nominated by Club President and District Governor.

  • Nomination form must include:

    • Service and leadership contributions

    • Evidence of community impact

    • Support of The Rotary Foundation

    • Personal testimony and Four-Way Test reflection

    • One official endorsement or testimonial

How We Honor Rotary’s Living Embodiment of Service Above Self

SERVICE EXCELLENCE

Humanitarian Impact (20pts)

  • Measures the nominee’s direct and meaningful contribution to improving lives through humanitarian service. Judges should assess the scale, depth, and transformative effect of projects or initiatives led or supported by the nominee, particularly in addressing community needs, uplifting vulnerable sectors, and creating measurable positive change.

Depth or Breadth of Service (10pts)

  • Evaluates the consistency, scope, and reach of the nominee’s service efforts. Consider whether the nominee has demonstrated sustained dedication over time, served multiple communities or causes, and actively participated in impactful Rotary and community initiatives beyond isolated projects.

Sustainability & Continuity (10pts)

  • Assesses the long-term value and continuity of the nominee’s service initiatives. Judges should consider whether projects or programs have systems, partnerships, leadership development, or structures in place that allow the impact to continue beyond a single event or Rotary year.

ETHICAL LEADERSHIP & ROTARY VALUES

Embodiment of the Four-Way Test (10pts)

  • Measures how consistently the nominee reflects Rotary’s Four-Way Test in both personal and professional conduct. Judges should look for integrity, fairness, goodwill, truthfulness, and actions that promote trust, respect, and ethical decision-making.

Leadership Through Influence (10pts)

  • Evaluates the nominee’s ability to inspire, motivate, and positively influence others through servant leadership. This includes mentoring fellow Rotarians, mobilizing communities, strengthening partnerships, and leading by example rather than authority alone.

Character & Reputation (5pts)

Assesses the nominee’s credibility, professionalism, humility, and standing within Rotary and the broader community. Judges should consider how the nominee is regarded by peers, partners, beneficiaries, and fellow leaders.

VOCATIONAL IMPACT & EXCELLENCE

Professional Excellence (10pts)

  • Measures the nominee’s achievements, competence, and excellence within their chosen profession or vocation. Judges should consider recognitions, innovations, leadership accomplishments, and the nominee’s commitment to high standards in their field.

Ethical Practice in Vocation (5pts)

  • Evaluates the nominee’s commitment to ethical conduct and integrity within their professional life. Consider whether the nominee demonstrates fairness, accountability, honesty, and social responsibility in the workplace or business environment.

Societal Contribution Through Work (5pts)

  • Assesses how the nominee uses their profession, expertise, or vocational influence to contribute positively to society. This may include community outreach, advocacy, mentorship, pro bono service, innovation for public good, or initiatives that create broader societal benefit.

ROTARY ENGAGEMENT

Active Involvement (5pts)

  • Measures the nominee’s level of participation and engagement within Rotary. Judges should consider attendance, leadership roles, committee involvement, project participation, district activities, and commitment to Rotary programs and initiatives.

Contribution to Rotary Growth / Impact (5pts)

  • Evaluates the nominee’s contribution toward strengthening Rotary’s reach, membership, visibility, sustainability, and public image. This may include membership development, partnership building, fundraising, youth engagement, public image initiatives, or strategic leadership contributions.

ENDORSEMENTS & BREADTH OF IMPACT

Strength & Diversity of Endorsements (5pts)

Assesses the credibility, quality, and diversity of endorsements supporting the nominee. Judges should consider endorsements from Rotary leaders, community partners, beneficiaries, professional peers, and organizations that can validate the nominee’s impact, leadership, and character.

 

Tips in choosing Nominees for Most Outstanding Rotarian of the Year

  • Tell compelling stories with clear data: how many people reached, what lasting change was achieved.

  • Show how the nominee lives out Rotary values daily, not just in Rotary events.

  • Include specific leadership roles and what was accomplished under their guidance.

  • Reflect on how the nominee inspires others and builds bridges in service.

  • Add endorsements with meaningful quotes or testimonies from Rotarians or beneficiaries.

  • Ensure the nominee’s commitment to TRF and End Polio Now is clearly stated and verified.
