Best Outdoor Media
Bold Visibility. Big Reach. Rotary in Every Direction.
This award honors a Rotary club or district that has creatively transformed public space into a powerful communication platform. Whether through billboards, transit ads, banners, or murals—outdoor media that turns heads and tells a story is what we’re looking for. The best entries amplify Rotary’s mission in bold, memorable, and highly visible ways.
Great outdoor executions do more than just display a message—they inspire. From showcasing service to promoting causes or events, this category recognizes projects that deliver high impact through placement, design, and purpose, while staying true to Rotary’s voice and values.
What we’re looking for:
Strategic Placement – Located in high-traffic, highly visible public areas that maximize exposure and awareness.
Branding Accuracy – Uses Rotary logos, fonts, colors, and messages in line with Rotary’s official brand guidelines.
Creative Impact – Design and messaging should be clear, striking, and attention-grabbing while expressing a strong Rotary connection.
Purpose and Relevance – Clearly promotes a Rotary campaign, project, or message with context that matters to the public.
Assesses originality, messaging strength, and design execution. Strong visuals and alignment with Rotary’s brand are essential.
Considers the scale and physical presence of the media. Larger formats or impactful dimensions score higher.
Evaluates the potential audience based on location, foot/vehicle traffic, and public visibility.
Measures how long the material remained in place, supporting visibility, repetition, and community awareness.
Looks at the lasting impression made and how well the display elevated Rotary’s public image and local engagement.
Tips for Creating Effective Outdoor Media
Use bold fonts, strong contrast, and minimal text to ensure visibility.
Include Rotary branding and a brief call to action (e.g., web link or hashtag).
Keep the layout clean—avoid clutter in busy environments.
Consider how the media will be seen: walking, driving, or commuting.
Work with experienced vendors for printing and placement specs.
Time your display around key Rotary events or awareness campaigns.
