Whether performed by a single voice or a full ensemble, this category is about videos that do more than showcase music—they uplift, connect, and communicate the Rotary message in a powerful way. Entries may be formatted for social media, district events, or campaigns. What matters most is that the performance moves people, reflects Rotary’s mission, and resonates with the harmony of service.

What we’re looking for:

  • Rotary Message in Music – Lyrics and theme that clearly reflect Rotary values, the 4-Way Test, or areas of focus.

  • Musical Quality & Originality – Strong vocal/instrumental performance, composition, or arrangement.

  • Visual Appeal – Thoughtful use of video, setting, costume, and production design.

  • Cultural and Inclusive Expression – A presentation that resonates across Rotary’s diverse global community.

  • Brand Integrity – Rotary logos, fonts, and colors used in line with Rotary’s brand guidelines.

The Criteria

How We Measure the Moments That Move Us

Inspiring (25%)

The video should uplift and emotionally move the viewer. It must convey Rotary’s spirit of service, unity, and hope through music, visuals, and overall atmosphere—leaving a lasting impression that resonates with Rotary’s mission.

Clearly Showing POA (People of Action) (25%)

The video must visually highlight Rotarians actively engaged in meaningful service, whether in community outreach, hands-on projects, or events. These visuals should clearly align with Rotary’s People of Action campaign and message.

Creativity (50%)

The video should demonstrate originality and thoughtful execution—through concept, storytelling, visuals, or editing. Unique presentation styles and fresh interpretations are encouraged, as long as they complement the Rotary Hymn and its message. Merits will be earned by entries performed by Rotarians and those that showcase diversity and family of Rotary.

Tips for Creating a Great Rotary Story Video

  • Keep it concise and focused—ideally under 3 minutes.

  • Use subtitles to enhance accessibility and global understanding.

  • Choose a meaningful location that reinforces the hymn’s message.

  • Involve Rotarians of different ages and backgrounds in the performance.

  • Include the Rotary logo and end with a call to action.

  • Upload your final video to YouTube or Vimeo for submission.
